What does code P0088 mean?

P0088 indicates excessive fuel pressure. It may be caused by a stuck regulator, incorrect rail pressure sensor reading, restricted return line or pump control fault. In common-rail systems, overpressure should not be ignored because it can affect injectors, the pump and safe operation.
